Niko Bundalo will not be visiting the Kentucky Wildcats after all, and it appears they’ve been cut from consideration altogether.
On Monday, news broke that Bundalo was set to officially visit Kentucky on October 18th.
However, Bundalo has canceled that trip and will not reschedule it.
This, according to 247 Sports’ Travis Branham.
Ranked as high as 17th overall in the 2025 class (via On3), Bundalo would have been a fantastic get for Mark Pope and Co. The Ohio native is the kind of versatile big man who can spread the floor with his 3-point shooting, something Pope has shown heavy interest in adding to his roster. UConn has been seen as one of, if not the favorite for Bundalo, so this was always going to be a very tough recruiting battle to win.
However, this could be taken as a bit of good news since Kentucky is in heavy pursuit of fellow 2025 big men Chris Cenac and Caleb Wilson, both of whom are consensus top-10 recruits. Kentucky probably isn’t getting more than one of Cenac/Bundalo/Wilson, so perhaps this means the Cats are in a good spot for Wilson and/or Cenac heading into the fall signing period.
Will be interesting to see how this all shapes out in the coming weeks.
