We’ve officially arrived at the midway point of the 2024 NFL season. The season’s either half over, or there’s still half of a season left depending on how your team is playing. Here at Pride of Detroit, our staff have made their picks for not only Thursday night’s game, but the entire slate of Week 9 games.
Last week’s matchup between the Los Angeles Rams and Minnesota Vikings on “Thursday Night Football” was a highly entertaining contest. We saw the Vikings get knocked down another peg and the Rams get their season back on track in one fell swoop. We could have a similar situation play out this week when the Houston Texans, minus Stefon Diggs, travel to East Rutherford to play the more-than-desperate New York Jets on Amazon Prime for “Thursday Night Football” at 8:15 p.m. ET.
On Sunday, the Pittsburgh Steelers and San Francisco 49ers get a break while the rest of the NFL is back to work with 13 games scheduled. No international tilts are scheduled until next week when the NFL heads to Munich, Germany, so take advantage of the opportunity to catch some extra Zs with daylight savings time taking place this weekend.
After your early morning activities have come and gone, the Metro Detroit audience will be treated to a matchup between NFC opponents: the Dallas Cowboys head to Georgia to take on the Atlanta Falcons in the early 1 p.m. ET. slot on FOX. CBS will counter with the Denver Broncos and the Baltimore Ravens in the 1 p.m. ET. slot as well.
At 4:25 p.m. ET, FOX will be broadcasting America’s Game of the Week: the Detroit Lions vs. the Green Bay Packers from Lambeau Field. The primetime offering is a contest between the Joe Flacco-led Indianapolis Colts and Minnesota Vikings on “Sunday Night Football” for an 8:20 p.m. ET kickoff on NBC/Peacock.
“Monday Night Football” on ESPN/ABC will showcase the Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. the Kansas City Chiefs at 8:15 p.m. ET.
As we have done in past seasons, our staff will be making weekly predictions for every game on the NFL schedule. Each of the Pride of Detroit staff will pick the moneyline (winner of the game, no spread), but some of the members will also pick against the spread and even the over/under lines—there’s an easy toggle button in the widget below to cycle through the settings. You can also check out all of the odds for this week’s games courtesy of FanDuel Sportsbook.
Here is who our staff is picking on the moneyline, spread, and over/under for all 16 games on the NFL Week 9 schedule:
