After a 3-0 start, the Seattle Seahawks have now fallen to .500 on the season with their third consecutive loss. The Seahawks will travel to face the Atlanta Falcons (4-2) for a crucial Week 7 matchup at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
As Seattle looks to return to the win column following a 10-day rest, FanDuel Sportsbook has the Seahawks as 2.5-point underdogs against the Falcons.
Seattle’s losing streak continued in Week 6 as the team hosted its rival San Francisco 49ers on Thursday Night Football, falling behind 23-3 before a kickoff return touchdown by Laviska Shenault Jr. got the Seahawks their first TD of the evening. Geno Smith did not perform well, going 30-for-52 passing with one passing touchdown against two interceptions. Suffice to say, Seattle needs to win in Atlanta.
The Falcons return home from Charlotte with their biggest win of the season, defeating the Panthers 38-20 for their first win by more than one score, and third win in a row. The game was Atlanta’s first game of the year that did not end up as a one-score game, with the largest margin being an eight-point loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 1.
The over/under for Week 7 is 48.5, which seems fairly reasonable considering how many points each team has scored so far this season. Through six games, the Seahawks have scored 146 points for an average of 24.3 points per game, while the Falcons are averaging 24.8 points over the first six weeks.
Seattle will face Atlanta for the second time in three seasons, having last played the Falcons in a 27-23 loss at home in Week 3 of the 2022 season. The Seahawks will look to get some payback this time around, searching for their first win against Atlanta since Week 1 of the 2020 campaign.
