As Axl Rose said in the Guns N’ Roses classic song November Rain… “Nothin’ lasts forever, even cold November rain.”
That’s right Axl! November rain is ending and giving way to December snow. We’ve already had a few games so far this season with some snow and that trend will continue into the weekend in a big way (how’s that for a teaser?).
There are also quite a few games with temperatures that are well below what we’ve seen throughout the year so far. It’ll be quite interesting to see how these cooler temperatures impact the teams. With no teams on bye, there’s plenty of action in store!
Read below to see what is in store for this weekend’s slate of games.
Pittsburgh Steelers @ Cincinnati Bengals
LOW impact. There is a small chance of snow in the early afternoon, but it’s looking like it’ll be fairly light. There will be snow around the Cincinnati area on Saturday, but I would expect the field to be relatively clear before game time. Winds will be in the single digits and temperatures will be chilly, hovering around the mid-30s.
Indianapolis Colts @ New England Patriots
LOW impact. Mostly clear skies and light winds are expected throughout the game. It’s going to be a cool one with temperatures in the upper 30s throughout the game.
Seattle Seahawks @ New York Jets
LOW impact. Another game with overall nice conditions, except for the temperature. There’s a small chance of slightly increased wind speeds (up to the high single digits) but it’s not enough to significantly impact any aspect of the game. Temps will be in the upper 30s during the game.
Tennessee Titans @ Washington Commanders
LOW impact. It’s going to be a little cloudier than the rest of the games along the East Coast, but that’s a good thing because it’ll make it ever so slightly warmer. Temperatures are expected in the low 40s, with light winds and no precipitation. Start all your studs!
Houston Texans @ Jacksonville Jaguars
LOW impact. While most of the games will suffer from cold temperatures, the Texans and Jags will be in a (relative) tropical paradise. Temperatures in the mid-60s, with no rain, and minimal cloud cover! Nicest game of the week for those who don’t like to be cold.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers @ Carolina Panthers
LOW impact. It will be a pretty nice day in Charlotte. No chance of rain, light winds, and temperatures in the mid-50s. Start all your usual players.
Philadelphia Eagles @ Baltimore Ravens
MEDIUM impact. The winds during this game will be in the low teens with gusts up to the high teens. From what I’m seeing, it won’t be persistent enough to cause issues to the passing game but your kickers will feel the impacts. Aside from the winds, there will be no rain, and temperatures will be in the high 30s.
San Francisco 49ers @ Buffalo Bills
HIGH impact. Well, here we go. This weekend in Buffalo is shaping up to be a rough one. First thing, if you are in the area please stay safe! As far as the game goes, there is a 70% chance of fairly significant snow hitting the stadium during the game. But that’s not all! Winds will be high with sustained winds in the high teens with gusts up to the lower 30s.
So what do we do for our fantasy lineups? Well as the resident Christian McCaffrey and James Cook manager in my league, I don’t have a flex that I think could match those two even in the bad conditions. If I had a receiver in the game, I would look for other options. As far as the kickers, with these conditions, it’s hard to imagine field goals being easy to come by. Even if the weather is bad, I don’t think you bench Josh Allen. If you have players in the game, I wish you the best and I’ll be right there with you hoping that the weather clears.
Cleveland Browns @ Denver Broncos
LOW impact. It’s shaping up to be a nice night in Denver. Clear skies, light winds, and temperatures in the mid-40s.
Weather is a dynamic thing and can change! Keep an eye on your local weather source leading up to kickoff to see if anything changes significantly. Good luck!
