Below is a glimpse of the scenarios for each team to lock down their spots in the 2024 NFL playoffs.
Bills (9-2) vs. San Francisco 49ers (5-6); Sunday, 8:20 p.m. ET, NBC
Buffalo clinches AFC East division title with:
1. A win and Miami Dolphins loss
Chiefs (10-1) vs. Las Vegas Raiders (2-9); Friday, 3 p.m. ET, Prime Video
Kansas City clinches a playoff berth with:
1. A win and Dolphins loss or tie OR
2. A win and Denver Broncos loss OR
3. A win, Los Angeles Chargers loss and Broncos tie OR
4. A tie and Dolphins loss
Lions (10-1) vs. Chicago Bears (4-7); Thursday, 12:30 p.m. ET, CBS
Detroit clinches playoff berth with:
1. A win, San Francisco 49ers loss or tie, Arizona Cardinals loss or tie, Seattle Seahawks loss and Tampa Bay Buccaneers loss or tie OR
2. A win, 49ers loss or tie, Cardinals loss, Seahawks tie and Buccaneers loss or tie OR
3. A win, 49ers loss or tie, Cardinals loss or tie, Seahawks loss, Washington Commanders loss or tie and Atlanta Falcons loss OR
4. A win, 49ers loss or tie, Cardinals loss or tie, Seahawks loss, Commanders loss and Falcons tie OR
5. A win, 49ers loss or tie, Cardinals loss, Seahawks tie, Commanders loss or tie and Falcons loss OR
6. A win, 49ers loss or tie, Cardinals loss, Seahawks tie, Commanders loss and Falcons tie
There are additional scenarios where Detroit can clinch through a tie combined with other outcomes that involve the Lions clinching the strength of victory tiebreaker.
