The 2024 NFL season is finally upon us, and Week 1’s schedule includes a full slate of 16 games over four days of action. This is the place for early odds on every game, with a rundown of the biggest matchups and live-updated moneyline, spread and totals for every Week 1 matchup, plus how to watch each game.
The betting lines for NFL Week 1 opened back in May when the league released its 2024 schedule. They haven’t moved much since then, though we’ll take a look at a couple of key thresholds that have been crossed.
The NFL Kickoff Game opens Thursday night on NBC and Peacock, with the Kansas City Chiefs vs. Baltimore Ravens under the lights of Arrowhead Stadium. Friday night features Week 1’s international matchup in Sao Paulo, Brazil, between the Green Bay Packers and Philadelphia Eagles, and then on Sunday, we’ve got a busy 13-game slate. Finally, the first Monday Night Football matchup of the season: Aaron Rodgers and the New York Jets at the San Francisco 49ers at 8:20 p.m. ET on ABC.

The scriptwriters really did a bang-up job with the Kickoff Game this year: a rematch of last season’s AFC Championship, when the best team in the league at the time, the Ravens, got bested by the seemingly inevitable Chiefs, who, of course, went on to win the Super Bowl. Both teams made key changes in the offseason, but the Ravens have a newer look and a new weapon in star running back Derrick Henry. Plus, some might say, a chip on their shoulders? Reigning NFL MVP Lamar Jackson vs. reigning Super Bowl MVP Patrick Mahomes is a must-watch affair.
The Chiefs opened as 2.5-point favorites but are now favored by a field goal. Since the NFL started its celebrated Kickoff Game in 2002, the home team has lost only six times (2002, 2012, 2017, 2019, 2022 and 2023).
The second game of the week is also perhaps the second-most anticipated, with Jordan Love and the Packers taking on Jalen Hurts and the Eagles in Brazil. The line for this matchup has moved in the Eagles’ direction since opening at a 1.5-point spread in their favor. Public money seems to favor Hurts and the Eagles. Not a bad time to hit the Packers?
Another game seeing some interesting point-spread movement: Jets vs. 49ers. The Niners opened as 6-point favorites, a spread that has since dropped to 4 and may keep moving. Optimism for Rodgers’ return could be moving money on the Jets, but you could also look at the Super Bowl hangover effect. Since 2000, Super Bowl losers have gone 4-19 against the spread in their Week 1 openers the following season.
The other games that have seen line movement of more than half a point are the Arizona Cardinals vs. Buffalo Bills (in Arizona’s favor), the Houston Texans vs. Indianapolis Colts (in Houston’s favor), the Denver Broncos vs. Seattle Seahawks (in Seattle’s favor) and the Dallas Cowboys vs. Cleveland Browns (in Cleveland’s favor).
The Cincinnati Bengals are the biggest favorite in Week 1, favored by a 9-point spread against the New England Patriots. The closest odds are between the Minnesota Vikings and New York Giants, where the Vikings are favored by 1.5 points.
