That was some timing.
Falcons receiver KhaDarel Hodge happened to catch a fight between fans in the stands on video while filming his game-winning touchdown celebration that sealed Atlanta’s victory over the Buccaneers in overtime, 36-30, on Thursday night.
Hodge was filming a selfie-style video for the NFL’s social media when someone wearing a red t-shirt with long, light hair was seen throwing punches in the crowd in the background.
The fan, in the front row seats at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, was throwing punches in the direction of fans behind them.
It’s unclear what sparked the postgame altercation, and whether stadium security or police got involved.
Hodge, who was speechless after his 45-yard scoring pass, didn’t seem to notice the fan throwing haymakers in the background of his video.
He filmed the clip on his way to the locker room, where the Falcons celebrated their divisional win by jumping up and down and cheering while spraying water.
Falcons quarterback Kirk Cousins, coming off an Achilles injury, threw for a career-high 509 yards and four touchdowns in the Thursday night thriller.
He even Swag-Surfed.
