The Cleveland Browns are 1-6 heading into Week 8 of the 2024 NFL season and could be 1-8 by the time the NFL trade deadline rolls around on November 5th. Given the team’s performance so far this season, games against the Baltimore Ravens and Los Angeles Chargers will be even more difficult than initially expected.
The Browns have already traded away WR Amari Cooper but that doesn’t mean GM Andrew Berry is going to have a firesale of all his players, even if rumors have started recently. A few are easily tradeable while other, including Myles Garrett, are untradeable for a variety of reasons.
That hasn’t stopped teams from making calls about the reigning NFL Defensive Player of the Year according to Albert Breer:
I don’t think they’ll move Myles Garrett (but some fishing has taken place; anyone can call), Denzel Ward or Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah.
It is interesting that Breer did not note players like David Njoku, Martin Emerson or Grant Delpit on that list.
It was noted that DE Za’Darius Smith, who has been previously mentioned in a rumor, and OT Jack Conklin could bring back value to Cleveland and be available. Conklin must first prove that he is healthy after leaving Week 8 with an undisclosed injury.
As noted, Garrett is highly unlikely to be available but a team that is slotted with the second-overall pick at this moment has to at least be taking those phone calls.
Do you think Garrett, Ward and JOK are untouchable in trade talks? Anyone else on that list?
