The NFL trade deadline looms Tuesday and win or lose Sunday at the Cincinnati Bengals, the 2-6 Raiders will not be in serious players in the playoff race by the time the deadline expires.
So, does that mean they will be trade sellers?
The Raiders, of course, already made a big trade as they shipped star wide receiver Davante Adams to the New York Jets two weeks ago.
Of course, star defensive end Maxx Crosby is untouchable, but there some players the Raiders could consider dealing.
That would start with players who are pending free agents. The Raiders have several such players, especially on defense. They include linebackers Robert Spillane and Divine Deablo, safety Tre’von Moehrig, cornerback Nate Hobbs and defensive tackles Adam Butler and John Jenkins. Running back Alexander Mattison will also be a free agent.
Wide receiver Jakobi Myers and left tackle Kolton aren’t free agents, but they could attract interest if made available.
Trading some of these players could help the Raiders rebuild in the draft, especially at the quarterback position.
