Los Angeles Rams starting left tackle Alaric Jackson has been suspended two games for violating the NFL’s personal conduct policy, the team announced on Friday.

The Rams declined to provide further comment on the matter, deferring instead to head coach Sean McVay’s postgame press conference in Houston, Tx. on Saturday (Week 3 of the preseason). Jackson is eligible to return on Sept. 16, after the Rams’ Week 2 game against the Arizona Cardinals.

Jackson has not practiced since the first week of training camp after suffering what the Rams said was an ankle injury. McVay initially designated Jackson as “day to day” but on Aug. 3 downgraded his status to “week to week”. Jackson has traveled with the team to joint practices, including in Houston this week.

Veteran offensive lineman Joe Noteboom and second-year offensive lineman Warren McClendon have been filling in for the absent Jackson. Elsewhere, starting right tackle Rob Havenstein is still recovering from an ankle injury. Starting left guard Jonah Jackson is expected to “work back in” to practice next week, according to McVay, after suffering a shoulder injury during training camp.
