The Philadelphia Eagles and the rest of the other 31 NFL teams have until Tuesday at 4 PM ET to get their rosters down to 53 players. As teams began to make their roster decisions, several former Eagles found themselves back on the market. K’Von Wallace was captain for a preseason game
Gardner Minshew named the starter
The Raiders didn’t want to wait until the first week of the regular season to announce their starting back, and named Gardner Minshew QB1 following their second preseason game.
Minshew went 10-of-19 for 95 yards in Las Vegas’ loss to the Cowboys.
Raiders head coach Antonio Pierce made the announcement and cited Minshew’s experience as the deciding factor. The QB has a lot of NFL starts and is also coming off his first Pro Bowl season.
