NFL training camps just started and we are all already chomping at the bit to see football back on the field even if it is only preseason action. The Cleveland Browns decided to host the start of their training camp at The Greenbrier in West Virginia which hasn’t started out perfectly for the team after an amazing experience last year.
The Browns roster is loaded with top-flight talent and impressive depth. As is true in all of the NFL, it all comes down to how the quarterback performs. If Deshaun Watson can get the new-look Cleveland offense revved up to new heights, the Browns Super Bowl hopes are near the top of the league.
We are likely to see a myriad of NFL power rankings between now and the start of the season (and then every week during the year). Ben Baldwin puts together one based on what the betting markets are currently saying about each team. Currently, that power ranking has Cleveland at the top of the third tier of teams in the league:
While the rankings have the Browns as the 13th-best team, it also has them as the eighth-best in the AFC and out of the playoffs.
As noted in their tier, Cleveland does have question marks (Watson’s performance, injuries) but has a lot of upside.
Where would you rank the Browns at this point in training camp? Are there teams above them, like the Jets and Dolphins, that you would rank them above? Anyone lower on the list that you would rank ahead of Cleveland?
