The stage is set for the 2024-25 NFL playoffs. Fourteen teams enter the postseason, but only one will hoist the Lombardi Trophy at the end of it all.
Super Bowl odds are out for all 14 teams entering the postseason, and the two teams holding the No. 1 seeds in their respective conferences – the Detroit Lions and Kansas City Chiefs – stand above the rest. The 12 other teams will play their first postseason games in the wild-card round while the Lions and Chiefs enjoy their bye week.
With the first round set to kick off on Saturday and conclude on Monday, BetMGM Sportsbook has all of the odds for each game, along with each playoff team’s odds to win the Super Bowl.
Here’s how all 14 NFL playoff teams rank by BetMGM’s Super Bowl odds:
Pittsburgh is one of the coldest teams in the field entering the postseason. The Steelers lost their last four games in the regular season and ranked as one of the worst teams in the NFL by offensive efficiency in that span. What’s more, they have a tough matchup against the Ravens on the road to begin their playoff run.
Houston is the weakest division champion in the AFC with its 10-7 record, which is also tied for the worst record of any playoff team in both conferences. The Texans lost back-to-back games to other AFC playoff teams – the Chiefs and Ravens – before beating the 3-14 Titans to close out the year. Like the Steelers, they also rank among the worst teams in the NFL by offensive efficiency over the last four weeks. Though they host the Chargers to open the wild-card round, Los Angeles is a formidable opponent with its 11-6 overall record, which includes a 6-3 mark on the road.
The Broncos took it down to the wire to clinch their first playoff berth since 2015. Denver’s losses to the Chargers in Week 16, then the Bengals in Week 17 put them in peril of losing a postseason spot entering the final week of the regular season. They face an uphill battle in the AFC side of the playoff bracket, going up against the Bills and MVP-hopeful quarterback Josh Allen in the wild-card round. Rookie quarterback Bo Nix will face his biggest test yet in Orchard Park on Sunday.
One year after winning just four games and finishing last in the NFC East, the Commanders won 12 games and were in the running for the NFC East title late in the regular season. A big part of that was the outstanding performance of rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels. However, he’s unproven under the bright lights of the NFL playoffs, and he and the rest of this Washington squad will be tested when they take on the Buccaneers on the road to start their playoff march.
Los Angeles is one of the hottest teams entering the postseason this year, having won five games in a row – including a shootout victory over the Bills – before resting its starters in Week 18. It’s unfortunate that the Rams will have to start their playoff run at a neutral location because of the raging Los Angeles wildfires. But the Matthew Stafford-led, Sean McVay offense featuring weapons like Puka Nacua, Cooper Kupp and Kyren Williams will be a tough test for any defense they come up against in their postseason run.
The work that head coach Jim Harbaugh has done with the Chargers is palpable. One year after a five-win season that included seven losses by three points or fewer, Los Angeles stacked 11 wins and is playoff-bound. Quarterback Justin Herbert has played like a star, running back J.K. Dobbins is among the Comeback Player of the Year favorites with his outstanding season and wide receiver Ladd McConkey is a rising star. That’s without mentioning the Chargers’ defense, which was the top scoring defense in the NFL in 2024. They’re one of the most dangerous wild-card teams entering this year’s postseason.
The Buccaneers are another team entering the playoffs hot. They’ve won six of their last seven games and ended the regular season as the league’s fourth-best scoring offense. Both their offense and defense rank among the top by efficiency metrics over the last four weeks, and they’ll look to give the Commanders fits on both sides of the ball when they square off on Sunday night.
Despite a Week 18 loss to the Chicago Bears in the final seconds of the regular season and the resulting drop to the NFC’s No. 7 seed, the Packers are still a top contender. Green Bay has boasted one of the best defenses by efficiency metrics over the last four weeks, and it has some excellent young weapons on offense, even after Christian Watson’s devastating injury.
The Vikings are hitting the road to begin their playoff run despite 14 regular-season wins. Thanks to the nature of the NFL’s playoff format, Minnesota finished one game behind the Lions in the NFC North after its Week 18 loss and fell to the No. 5 seed. Regardless, quarterback Sam Darnold has been a match made in heaven with head coach Kevin O’Connell, and the defense has proven it’s among the NFL’s best units under defensive coordinator Brian Flores.
Philadelphia has one of the scariest offenses in the NFL. Between the passing attack led by quarterback Jalen Hurts and wide receivers A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith, and the rushing game that running back Saquon Barkley has taken to the next level, these Eagles are going to be a challenge to stop. Add in a top-two scoring defense that has really come together under defensive coordinator Vic Fangio, and the Eagles have all of the ingredients to be a top Super Bowl contender this year.
Quarterback Josh Allen has played at an MVP level all season (with a broken left hand since Week 1!), and it helped the Bills win 13 games – including the only one any team had over the Patrick Mahomes-led Chiefs all year. When Allen’s playing to this caliber, Buffalo looks unstoppable. However, the Bills will need to figure out the defensive struggles that allowed over 40 points in back-to-back weeks to the Rams and Lions.
Quarterback Lamar Jackson was the AP’s first-team All-Pro quarterback for a second straight year and the third time in his career. The first two times that happened, he also won the NFL MVP award. Like with Allen, when Jackson gets hot, the Ravens look unstoppable. He can tear apart defenses with his legs or arm, and when he’s not the one running hog-wild, running back Derrick Henry is. The defense has also been far and away the best in the NFL by efficiency metrics over the last four weeks, too. The Ravens will make for a really tough playoff opponent for whoever they face in the coming weeks.
They’re the Chiefs, their quarterback is Patrick Mahomes and they ensured the AFC bracket runs through Arrowhead Stadium by securing the conference’s No. 1 seed. On top of those factors, Kansas City’s defense remained among the most formidable again in 2024, and the offense is getting some players (like running back Isiah Pacheco and wide receiver Marquise “Hollywood” Brown) back healthy.
The Lions followed up their run to the NFC championship game last year with the winningest single season in franchise history. Their 15 wins were tied with the Chiefs for most in the NFL this year and, similarly, were enough to earn Detroit the NFC’s top seed. The Lions have suffered more than a full starting lineup-worth of defensive injuries this year, and still have managed to flourish under the leadership of head coach Dan Campbell, offensive coordinator Ben Johnson and defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn – both of whom are already emerging as hot head-coaching candidates. Things are looking up in Motown; could this year finally be the year?
