Here is what the national media is saying about the Week 1 game between the Browns and Cowboys:
Deshaun Watson has been banged up some for the Browns, but he will start at quarterback. The Cowboys have CeeDee Lamb back after his contract, which will be big. Cleveland is a tough place to play for an opener, but the Cowboys will be up to it. Look for the defense to attack Watson and turn him over as the Cowboys win a tough road game.
The Cowboys’ defense will slip a bit with a few key personnel losses and no more Dan Quinn calling plays, and it got hit with the extra blow of top cornerback DaRon Bland going on the shelf with a foot injury. The Browns’ defense flexed last season with Myles Garrett, and it will go to work on a reworked Cowboys’ offensive line protecting Dak Prescott. This promising passing affair between Prescott and Deshaun Watson becomes a low-scoring, mistake-filled grinder, which favors the home team.
No team generates more Week 1 overreactions than Dallas, and this game will not be an exception. The Browns made the playoffs last season, and they were 8-1 S/U at home. Deshaun Watson has just as much on the line from a perception standpoint as Dak Prescott. CeeDee Lamb ended his holdout, and that could impact the line leading up to kickoff. This is a game we would probably stay away from otherwise, but pressed for a pick, we’ll take a small upset.
