Before the second Sunday of the 2024 NFL regular season kicks off, let’s have some fun by taking a look at the lines for the Week 2 games.
You can CLICK HERE for straight up NFL picks without regard to the spread. You can find all of the NFL betting lines via FanDuel.
My overall record is 11-5, which is just slightly behind the collective BGN community at 12-4. We’re off to a solid start. Let’s see if we can keep it going.
Here are suggestions when trying to beat the odds.
NEW ORLEANS SAINTS at DALLAS COWBOYS (-6.5): The Saints looked impressive last week but part of that was their opponent being maybe the worst team in the NFL. The Cowboys will provide a much tougher test. Not willing to give New Orleans the benefit of the doubt just yet. PICK: Cowboys -6.5
TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS at DETROIT LIONS (-7.5): The Bucs might be a little frisky. They won’t win but they’ll find a way to cover. PICK: Buccaneers +7.5

CLEVELAND BROWNS at JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS (-3): Deshaun Watson was sooooooo bad in Week 1. Hard to bet on him. PICK: Jaguars -3
SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS (-4.5) at MINNESOTA VIKINGS: Until the 49ers fall off, can’t just count on it happening. The Vikings looked better than expected last week but part of that was their opponent being bad. PICK: 49ers -4.5
LOS ANGELES CHARGERS (-4.5) at CAROLINA PANTHERS: Who’s possibly putting faith in the Panthers? PICK: Chargers -4.5
LAS VEGAS RAIDERS at BALTIMORE RAVENS (-8.5): The Raiders are bad and the Ravens cook in the regular season. PICK: Ravens -8.5
SEATTLE SEAHAWKS (-3.5) at NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS: West coast team making a 1:00 PM start on the road makes you tempted to take the points … but the Pats overachieved last weekend. Their flaws will be more apparent today. PICK: Seahawks -3.5
INDIANAPOLIS COLTS (-2.5) at GREEN BAY PACKERS: Malik Willis is really bad. I’m taking the Colts as my Lock Of The Week pick (1-0 this year). PICK: Colts -2.5
NEW YORK JETS (-4.5) at TENNESSEE TITANS: That Titans defense looked pretty good but Will Levis’ turnovers could doom them. The Jets will bounce back after a dispiriting loss. Aaron Rodgers isn’t totally cooked. PICK: Jets -4.5
NEW YORK GIANTS at WASHINGTON COMMANDERS (-1.5): For as bad as Daniel Jones is, one thing you can say about him is that he beats the Commanders. He’s 5-1-1 against them with 10 touchdowns to three interceptions. Washington’s defense got abused by Baker Mayfield last week. That unit seems to be a work in progress. PICK: Giants +1.5

LOS ANGELES RAMS at ARIZONA CARDINALS (-1.5): The Rams are banged up but they should be able to still have success against a leaky Cardinals defense. PICK: Rams +1.5

CINCINNATI BENGALS at KANSAS CITY CHIEFS (-6.5): If there’s one quarterback who can beat Patrick Mahomes regularly, it’s Joe Burrow. That said, I’m not in the business of doubting the Chiefs. PICK: Chiefs -6.5
PITTSBURGH STEELERS (-2.5) at DENVER BRONCOS: I’ll fade Justin Fields at all costs. PICK: Broncos +2.5
CHICAGO BEARS at HOUSTON TEXANS (-6.5): The Texans have so many weapons. The Bears look like they’re very much a work in progress as Caleb Williams finds his footing. PICK: Texans -6.5
ATLANTA FALCONS at PHILADELPHIA EAGLES (-6): The Eagles might not have A.J. Brown, which is concerning. Still, the Birds should have enough firepower to cover against a Falcons team that only managed to put up 10 points in Week 1. Kirk Cousins’ limitations are an issue until proven otherwise. PICK: Eagles -6
The Philadelphia Eagles’ win over the Washington Commanders on Thursday night was pretty big for the Birds’ playoff outlook. The Eagles took a 1.5-game
Saquon Barkley was a Giant nightmare for the Commanders on Thursday night. The Eagles running back recorded 198 total yards on 28 touches, rushi
