The NFL fined Las Vegas Raiders defensive end Maxx Crosby $11,255 for unnecessary roughness for a hit on Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow after the play was whistled dead during the second quarter of the Bengals‘ Week 9 win at Paycor Stadium.
Crosby was penalized for dead-ball unnecessary roughness for roughing the passer and offsides. He shook hands with Burrow as he checked on him after the hit, which did not result in a physical altercation between the teams.
Burrow was checked out by medical personnel, and blood was wiped from his neck below his ear after Crosby’s hit. Later in the game, Crosby shoved Burrow to the turf after Burrow fired a pass into the ground during the third quarter.
