Simone Biles just committed a major sports fashion faux pas.
NFL fans called out the Olympic gold medalist for wearing a Green Bay Packers jacket to a Chicago Bears game on Saturday while supporting her husband Jonathan Owens from the sidelines.
“It’s ridiculously unaware of your surroundings and insulting to her husband,” said one fan online, referencing the popular rivalry between the two teams.
The jacket was decorated with several action shots of the NFL safety. It also had the giant green Packers logo on the shoulder pad.
Owens played one season for the Packers in 2023 before he left as a free agent. He signed a two-year deal with the Bears in March.
Biles, 27, finished her look with a black Prada bucket hat, a pair of reflective shades and a black Balenciaga purse as she walked along the field in a protective boot after suffering a calf injury while competing in the 2024 Paris Olympics last month.
“With all due respect, Simone Biles gotta throw that jacket in the trash ASAP,” another social media user wrote of the fashion mistake. “How did she get in with that?”
“She’s obviously supporting her husband Jonathan Owens and she’s one of the greatest Olympians so she gets a pass,” tweeted sports reporter Chase Daniel. “But it’s still one of the oldest rivalries in all of football & she’s rocking #GoPackGo logos lol.”
While addressing Chicago fans in a TikTok video for the NFL, she pushed the jacket off her shoulders, revealing a black sleeveless romper underneath.
“What’s up, Chicago? Go Bears,” she said into the camera. NBC Sports captioned the short clip, “The Bears’ newest fan… Simone Biles!”
Biles has publicly shown her support for her hubby before — most recently, she defended him wearing her gold medals for a photo after fans blasted him online.
“Crazy thing is, I put my medal on every single one of my family members and took pictures. So don’t ever make assumptions,” she commented under TikToker Kiera Breaugh’s video critiquing Owens.
“Like y’all are so f–ing miserable. Leave us alone.”
