We’re rounding out the first third of the NFL regular season and it still feels like everything is in the feeling out stages. Sure, there are a few teams we can categorically say are great and will be a factor in the postseason like the Chiefs and Bills, but after that things get iffy.
If Sam Darnold keeps performing the Vikings are locks to be favorites in the NFC — but who knows how long that will keep up. The Buccaneers look solid in the conference too. Meanwhile the 49ers haven’t found their footing without Christian McCaffrey, the Browns are a dumpster fire, and the Eagles are struggling too. A lot of the teams we assumed would be great simply haven’t been, while there have been surprises along the way.
This is a brutal week for making picks up and down the board. It’s littered with games which could go either way and contests between teams that could either be compelling, close battles — or absolute blowouts either way.
