VIDEO: Scituate High moves on the Div. 4 state football playoffs
Scituate High football advanced in the Division 4 state tourney Friday night with a 28-0 win over Wayland.
Big news was revealed for two of the best high school football players on the South Shore during the recent national college signing day.
Marshfield High’s Brady Crowley (Bryant University) and Scituate High’s Lawson Foley (University of Maine) officially announced that they will both try their hand at playing for a Division I college football program.
Foley starred on both sides of the football for Scituate High on their undefeated run to the Division 4 state championship. The wide receiver caught 43 passes for 979 yards and 18 touchdowns this year. For his career he had 2,265 yards receiving and 35 touchdowns.
Starting at outside linebacker on defense, Foley’s senior season included 65 solo tackles, three sacks, and six interceptions during the Sailors’ run to the state title.
“I like always being on the field and helping out in all phases of the game,” said Foley in a story earlier this year. “I want to be the guy who is always out there for his teammates, battling with them and helping lift them up when they need encouragement.”
Crowley played tight end in a Marshfield offense that proved to be one of the most potent in the entire state. Equally adept as a pass catcher as well as a blocker, Crowley helped the Rams to a final record of 10-2 this season and the Patriot League Keenan Division championship, ending Duxbury’s 16-year hold on the title.
