DETROIT — A new Planet Fitness gym opened in Detroit’s Corktown neighborhood Tuesday.
The new gym opened at 1200 W. Fort St., which was the former Salvation Army location, roughly two blocks east of the Lodge Freeway.
The gym hosted a grand opening tour Tuesday from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. that included giveaways, swag, food and more.
The new 18,000 square foot gym features top of the line cardio and strength equipment, cardio theater, locker rooms and a Black Card spa that includes massage chairs, HydroMassage beds and a new CyroLounge+ and more.
Membership costs $15 per month. The PF Black Card will cost $24.99 a month and gives you access to a free guest, the Black Card Spa, all other PF locations and more.
New members can join for $1 down for the classic membership and $1 and an introductory rate of $19.99 per month for the Black Card for a limited time.
The new location is the third spot in Detroit. There are also locations at 8 Mile Road and Woodward Avenue, and another in New Center at the Detroit Pistons facility.
