A gaming arcade is being planned for a city shopping centre.
High Score, which described itself as offering “family entertainment”, would charge a flat rate for entry to the venue in Worcester, giving visitors an hour to play as many games as they liked.
All games would be set to “free-play” mode, meaning no money or tokens were required.
Plans for High Score to take over a vacant unit in Crowngate shopping centre have been submitted to the city council.
Proposals put forward on behalf of Crowngate owners Starburst UK Ltd described High Score as a “unique leisure experience”.
The submission said: “As a family-focused entertainment centre, High Score is designed for all ages, setting them apart from traditional arcades.
“There are no gambling, over 18s machines, or prize games offered by High Score.”
The unit earmarked for the arcade was described as having a “large open plan ground floor” with a smaller basement and first floor.
The plans stated: “The proposed amusement arcade would occupy a currently vacant unit, thereby bringing the premises back into active use and contributing to the vitality of the town centre.”
