DALEVILLE, Ala. (WTVY) – Soon daleville will get a new disc golf course.
Work on the 18-hole professional course at Culpepper Park is expected to start soon.
Phil Chalker is over the project. He is a disc golf enthusiast and owns Chalkerhaus Adventure Company.
Chalker hopes this course and another project at the Daleville Boys and Girls Club will grow the sport in Daleville.
“We thought this was the perfect outdoor activity for our youth and even senior citizens. It is something to do and it is accessible, so we talked to the mayor and they were so supportive,” Chalker said. “So, we are going to expand the sport. We are partnering with a nonprofit called the Southeast Alabama Disc Golf Association and they are based out of Daleville as well. They will be supporting us with clinics, tournaments, and support for course design.”
Chalker hopes to have the course finished by the end of next year.
