TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – Several new and growing businesses are on the horizon in the capital city this year. They are expected to bring new jobs and potentially more money.
Tamara Smith, director of community development with Capital City Chamber of Commerce, said with the drastic changes seen with inflation, as well as staffing and marketing, the need for business and job growth is now greater.
Friday morning, a new Black-owned restaurant, Midtown & 3rd Restaurant and Lounge, opened on North Monroe Street. The restaurant features southern soul food with three levels for guests to dine in.

On Jan. 31, the grand opening for Tallahassee’s second Wawa store will take place, according to a Braithwaite statement released Friday. The store will be located at 1755 North Blair Stone Road.
Capital City residents can also be on the lookout for Conner’s Steak and Seafood, set to open in Market Square. Officials said their opening date has been delayed slightly. However, they are planning to open in early March.
Octapharma Plasma is expected to expand on Feb. 6, according to the Capital City Chamber of Commerce. It will bring over 50 jobs.
