The Brooklyn Nets may be off to a pedestrian start this year, but there’s no denying who their main man is. Cam Thomas is emerging as a walking bucket and Quinn Allen believes a hot-shooting performance is on the cards tonight.

It’s the battle of NYC tonight at the iconic Madison Square Garden as the Brooklyn Nets visit the New York Knicks in an Eastern Conference clash.
My Nets vs Knicks predictions are eyeing Cam Thomas to have an impressive shooting performance from deep after erupting for 43 points in the NBA Cup against New York on Friday.
Read below for my NBA picks for Sunday, November 17.
My best bet
Cam Thomas Over 2.5 threes (+105 at bet365)
My analysis
Across the last couple of seasons, we’ve seen what Cam Thomas was capable of when given a bigger workload. The former LSU standout is a walking bucket and after the Brooklyn Nets traded Mikal Bridges to the New York Knicks, it became clear that Thomas would become the main option in Brooklyn for 2024-25.
Thomas has the highest usage on this roster by a mile at 31.2%. He’s averaging 25.3 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 3.1 assists on 39.8% shooting from three-point land. While we could focus on his scoring here after dropping 43 two days ago, we’ll focus on Thomas’s impressive shooting as of late because it offers more betting value.
The 23-year-old has hit the Over in triples in three straight contests and four of the last five. He was 7 for 10 on Friday at MSG. Thomas has a hot hand right now from deep. That means he won’t shy away from chucking up some threes tonight.
During the year, Thomas has attempted a career-high 7.5 triples per game and 3.0 makes. Given the way he’s shooting the rock, lock in the Over.
The Knicks were in real trouble on Friday in the NBA Cup against the Nets, blowing a 21-point lead. But thankfully, Jalen Brunson saved the day with 6.2 seconds left in the fourth, draining a game-winning triple. While the victory moved them to 2-0 in group play of the tournament, it also marked a seventh consecutive win for New York versus Brooklyn dating back to February of 2023.
It’s hard to not look at their dominance of the Nets and not give the moneyline a shot. Sure, it’s quite steep, but in a same-game parlay, it’s definitely worth a bet. It offers more value than the spread.
I think the Knicks were probably expecting more out of Miles Bridges after acquiring him in the offseason. He’s off to a slow start with his new squad, averaging just 16.2 points, 3.9 boards, and 3.6 dimes while shooting only 32.9% from three-point land.
However, Bridges has played better as of late. He just hit the Over in points in back-to-back contests, registering his second and third 20+ point games of the campaign so far. The former Villanova star dropped 22 against his former team on Friday.
His total is set at only 16.5. Bridges is playing with more confidence and this could be the beginning of him finding a rhythm offensively. I like the Over in points.
