Three former Nebraska football players are celebrating after their victory in the Super Bowl. Cam Jurgens, Nick Gates, and Ochaun Mathis are NFL champions after the Philadelphia Eagles defeated the Kansas City Chiefs 40-22 in New Orleans, Louisiana.
Cam Jurgens is the starting center for the Eagles offensive line. He played at Nebraska from 2018-21. Philadelphia took him in the second round of the 2022 NFL draft.
Nick Gates is an offensive lineman for the Eagles. He played at Nebraska from 2014 to 2017 and was undrafted in 2018. He has also played for the New York Giants and Washington Commanders before joining Philadelphia.
Ochaun Mathis plays linebacker for the Eagles practice squad. He played at Nebraska for one season (2022) after starting his career with the TCU Horned Frogs. He was drafted in the sixth round of the 2023 draft by the Los Angeles Rams.
Nebraska assistant coach Terry Bradden was on the sideline for the Kansas City Chiefs. Following Sunday’s game, he officially joined the Huskers as the defensive line coach.
