Aubree Clements is a junior transfer from Newberry College. She represented the Wolves in competition for two seasons before transferring to NCCU, including a third-place individual finish at one event last season. Clements, who currently resides in Charleston, South Carolina, and is originally from Richmond, Virginia, was a two-time state championship individual qualifier at Hillcrest High School (Simpsonville S.C.). She will be on a pre-med concentration track as a biology major student-athlete at NC Central.
“Aubree has had a solid college career thus far at Newberry College in South Carolina being a two-year starter,” said Greene. “She will bring some experience to the team this season and look for her to be an instant impact to our women’s program.”
Mya Smith will remain in her hometown of Durham, North Carolina, as she enters her freshman season at NCCU. She is a four-year letter winner on a talented Charles E. Jordan High School team in which the Falcons won three consecutive 4A Central Conference Championships and finishing fourth in states her junior and senior seasons. The National Honor Society student-athlete plans to major in kinesiology at NCCU with a concentration in sports medicine.
“Mya was a two-sport athlete in golf and women’s basketball right here in Durham at Jordan High School,” said Greene. “I had an opportunity to watch her grow over the past couple of years and know she will bring great mental toughness to our team and look forward to watching her golf game progress.”
