It was a rough Sunday afternoon for the New York Knicks when they took on the Boston Celtics at TD Garden.
And things got worse Monday for one Knicks guard.
The NBA announced it assessed a postgame flopping fine of $2,000 to Josh Hart. The play in question occurred in the third quarter as Hart started to make his way up the floor after a turnover. Celtics guard Jrue Holiday lightly put his hand on Hart’s waist but Hart flailed to the floor trying to get a call, which never came.
The light fine won’t exactly hurt Hart’s wallet. After all, he’s making $18.1 million this season after signing a four-year, $81 million contract extension with the Knicks in August 2023.
Aside from the egregious flop, Hart held his own against the Celtics, something the Knicks didn’t do as a whole as they were outclassed in a 118-105 defeat. It was Boston’s third double-digit win over New York on the season.

Hart flirted with a triple-double, though, coming through with 20 points on 8-of-14 shooting to go along with 11 rebounds and nine assists.
It was a good showing from Hart, but he certainly won’t be winning any Academy Awards in the near future.
