The Nets have lost four of its last five and seven of its last nine, dating back to the big win over Kevin Durant and the Phoenix Suns. Things are a little confusing and it appears some fans are confused, too. This team was winning basketball games and they were fun, something that was sought for the longest time in Nets World.
But… they have too many picks and this 2025 Draft class is too good to pass up. The tank is certainly moving but it isn’t moving too fast. Yet. They’re one win from a play-in spot and they’re only one game ahead on the 12-seed 76ers. After that, it drops off dramatically by four games. So, if you’re rooting for this team to bottom out — they need to lose and lose a lot. Fast. The Hornets (7-21) stink. The 7-22 Raptors are even worse. And at this rate, I don’t think anybody is catching the Wizards (4-22). Those guys are looking at something similar to the Nets’ 12-70 season.
I’ll continue saying: Get ready to learn College Hoops, Nets fans.

Injuries: No Cam Thomas, Bojan Bogdanovic, Ziaire Williams, Trenton Watford, or DeAnthony Melton. Dorian Finney-Smith is questionable with a left calf contusion. But we may see Dariq Whitehead and Jaylen Martin. Both have been on assignment to Long Island but are listed as questionable for Brooklyn. The two played in Orlando Sunday.
Miami: Josh Richardson is out with right heel inflammation. Jimmy Butler is questionable with a stomach illness.
The Game: Nic Claxton will have quite the battle on his hands tonight. Bam Adebayo is the key to Miami’s season and they need All Star play if they want to salvage their season. Adebayo can do a bit of everything as he can run the offense, find his teammates for good looks at the rim, and score in the midrange. He’s taking close to three three pointers a night and only shooting 31.1 percent. Finding quality shots is the name of the game, and if you’re not hitting certain shots, you have to find your way into better ones.
