Sacramento Kings signed free agent sharpshooter Doug McDermott to a one-year NBA deal on Wednesday, ESPN reported.
McDermott, 32, takes the roster spot that opened up when the Kings traded Jalen McDaniels on Monday. The Kings are McDermott’s seventh NBA team.
McDermott averaged 5.5 points and 14.1 minutes per game with San Antonio Spurs and Indiana Pacers last season. He shot 41 percent from the 3-point line, on par with his career average from long range.
McDermott has averaged 8.9 points in 655 career games (94 starts) with six teams, including two stints with the Pacers. The Denver Nuggets selected McDermott No. 11 overall in the 2014 draft and dealt him to the Chicago Bulls in a draft-night trade. –Field Level Media
