NBA flexes Feb. 5 Suns vs. Thunder matchup to ESPN
Being a title contender has its perks. One of those being the NBA flexing games to the national stage. The Oklahoma City Thunder added another game to their national television slate when the league announced their contest against the Phoenix Suns on Wednesday, Feb. 5 will now also be broadcasted on ESPN.
On the eve of the trade deadline, Kevin Durant and Devin Booker will travel to OKC to face off against the first-seeded Thunder. It’ll be a busy two days for the Suns as they hope to land Jimmy Butler from the Miami Heat before the Feb. 6 deadline passes.
Meanwhile, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander could add to his MVP case against the Suns on national television. He’s ahead of Nikola Jokic for the prestigious award but with three months left in the season, a lot can change.
This will be the season’s second matchup between the squads. The Thunder blew out the Suns on Nov. 15 during an NBA Cup group play game. They will play each other three times during the regular season.
The tipoff has also been changed from 7 p.m. CT to 8:30 p.m. CT. Expect the Thunder to be featured on ESPN several times for the foreseeable future.
