In a continued effort to improve the annual release’s gameplay, 2K has introduced ProPLAY, which uses animations taken directly from NBA game film to provide players with the most realistic, true-to-the-game product.
The addition promises, “1,100 signature shot animations” and “over 1,300 new off-the-ball animations.” It also features 150 signature moves, staying true to the players that dazzle fans on the court.
Developers have also enhanced the dribbling engine in this year’s release, with the game’s official website claiming, “It goes beyond animations, and turns movement with the ball into one holistic, dynamic piece of motion, one-to-one with how players dribble in real life.”
Among other improvements to gameplay are signature shots, improved shot timing, pro stick rhythm shooting, and a brand new defensive cutoff system, which means the players you utilize at home may have a stronger defensive skill set than the real-life athletes they represent.
Finally, the developers have utilized AI to improve the game’s difficulty, with adjustments no longer based solely on shooting percentage.
Overall, the team at 2K has worked to provide players with the most authentic experience, something in demand regarding sports games today.
