This year’s Mount Nittany Health Foundation Golf Classic raised more than $470,000, a record total for the annual fundraising event.
Held on Sept. 20 at the Penn State Golf Courses, the sold-out 34th annual tournament featured 288 golfers.
Proceeds from the event will support the construction of the new $350 million,10-story patient tower at Mount Nittany Medical Center, which is expected to open in late 2026.
“As a hospitalist, my primary focus is on delivering comprehensive care to patients admitted to the medical center,” Dr. Natalie Tussey, Mount Nittany Health hospitalist and chair of the Golf Classic Committee, said in a news release. “The new patient tower represents a key step forward for our community’s healthcare, enhancing the patient experience at every level. The overwhelming support from our community for this project is truly inspiring, and we’re excited for the future of Mount Nittany Health.”
Since its inception in 1991, the Mount Nittany Health Golf Classic has raised millions of dollars to support healthcare advancements in the Centre Region, including funding for rehabilitation equipment at Mount Nittany Health Fitness and Rehabilitation and a new ambulance for Mount Nittany Health Emergency Services.
“We are deeply grateful for the incredible generosity of our community,” said Adrienne Krasowitz, executive director of the Mount Nittany Health Foundation. “It’s exciting to see the Golf Classic continue to grow each year, setting a new record for fundraising. This wouldn’t be possible without the dedication of our volunteers, donors, and sponsors, who truly make this event exceptional.”
