WATERTOWN, New York (WWNY) – Fall sports playoffs continued Wednesday.
South Jefferson beat Mexico 42 – 10 in Class B-2 semifinal football.
Spartans quarterback Brayden Miick was injured in the first quarter and would have to leave the game.
Mexico scored first with a field goal, but South Jefferson’s Gavin Warner answered with a 16 yard run for his first touchdown of the game.
In Section X boys soccer, St. Lawrence Central beat Brushton Moira 3-1 in the Class C semifinal, and will go on to face LIsbon for the Class C championship.
Kamdyn Coughlin scored two of St. Lawrence Central’s goals, while Tristan Russell got the lone Brushton-Moira goal.
In Class B semifinal boys play, Canton beat Gouverneur 6-1 and will face OFA for the title. Will Andes and Tom Husenic were among the Golden Bears to score.
In Section X girls soccer, Colton-Pierrepont defeated Chateaugay 1-0 and will advance to the Class D championship versus Harrisville. (Harrisville beat Morristown 1-0 Wednesday.) The Colts’ Teagan Planty had the game’s only score.
