The La Crosse Steam finished their four game stretch at Minot with the second game of their second doubleheader on Wednesday, August 1, at Corbett Field. Kierra Fournier pitched four and one-third innings and allowed one run on five hits, walked three batters and tallied two strikeouts. She did tally five strikeouts in stellar relief.
Returning to their normal characters, the Honeybees will face the Night Mares in Madison for a doubleheader on Saturday, August 3, and move on to tackle the La Crosse Steam again on Sunday, August 4 on the road. The final game of the inaugural Northwoods League season will be at the Mankato Habaneros on Monday, August 5, to close out their first year of play.
Currently, the Habaneros are atop the standings at 28-10 with the final weekend of play looming. The Madison Night Mares are second with a 24-14 record. LaCrosse is in third place at 15-23 while Minot has an 8-29 record with the four games remaining.
