STILLWATER — Details continue to trickle out from the stalemate between Oklahoma State University and football coach Mike Gundy in the aftermath of a Board of Regents special meeting Friday morning.
Though no action was taken by the Regents after the two-hour meeting, a source has confirmed to The Oklahoman that Gundy has been presented with an amended contract that includes a pay cut, as initially reported by Pete Thamel of ESPN.
The source also confirmed that Gundy would have restrictions in place for his hiring of coordinators, as reported by John Holcomb of KOTV-6 in Tulsa.
That is a pressing detail, considering Gundy is in the market for two coordinators following Wednesday’s news that Kasey Dunn and Bryan Nardo had been fired.
The Cowboys went 3-9 — losing all nine Big 12 games to end the season — which was the worst season in Gundy’s 20-year tenure. He is the winningest coach in OSU history with an overall record of 169-88 and a Big 12 record of 102-72.
This story will be updated.
