Michigan football is hosting a plethora of top recruits this weekend for its game against USC. It will be Michigan’s first big visit week of the season, due to its start time of 3:30 PM and its high profile. The Wolverines 2025 class is mostly set minus a few uncommitted kids and a few flip targets, so most of the priority at this point is on retaining the elite talent already committed to Michigan.

As has been reported, some of Michigan’s commits, specifically top-100 recruits Andrew Olesh and Ivan Taylor, are planning other visits. While this could be a concern in the future, right now the staff is happy with where they stand. Along with that, Olesh will be on campus this weekend for the USC game, and Taylor will likely visit for a game later this fall.

Michigan football will play host to 10 of its commits this weekend, headlined of course by top-100 recruits Andrew Olesh and Kainoa Winston. It’s paramount that the Wolverines provide a great experience to all of their commits and remind them why they chose Michigan.

Moving to the non-committed 2025 recruits, there are two big names here. The first is Colorado commit Alex Graham. Graham started off the cycle ranked as a top 100 recruit, but has taken a steep fall in the rankings after some injuries and concerns about his durability. Michigan football was high on him to start the cycle, but cooled, as many other schools did.

With few remaining options at cornerback, the Wolverines are starting to circle back. It wouldn’t be a surprise at all to see Graham, a Michigan native, end up in the class. It all depends on if the staff prioritizes him or not. They’re still working on a few high profile flip candidates, but if none of those materialize Graham is a potential replacement.

Hands down the biggest visitor of the week, top 100 LB Nathaniel Owusu-Boateng will be on campus for the game this weekend. Boateng has been Michigan’s top target at the linebacker position all cycle long. The Wolverines figure to be in the top group of Boateng’s remaining schools, right up there with Notre Dame.

This visit is going to be absolutely paramount, as it will likely be the last time Boateng is in Ann Arbor prior to his eventual commitment. Michigan has a significant lack of depth at linebacker, and there’s a real chance Boateng could see significant playing time as a freshman in Ann Arbor.

Michigan football needs to make a big move here. Boateng would be a massive addition to the 2025 class and would give Michigan some much-needed momentum. Let’s hope for a good weekend on and off the field. Go blue.
