Miami Heat All-Star Jimmy Butler has a knack for messing with NBA media personnel. The past several years, Butler has shown up to media day wearing some outrageous get-up or hair style all in an effort to look as ridiculous as possible for starting lineup graphics when his team’s games air on television.
In 2023, he showed up to media in full emo attire.
And here he is in 2022 with luscious dreadlocks.
Butler’s look this year has been speculated so much that some people were even placing bets on Butler’s hairstyle for 2024 media day.
However, after all the speculation, Butler wound up opting for his normal look.

In a shocking turn of events, Butler opted to do nothing special for 2024 media day. Instead, Butler simply showed up as normal. Does this mean he is more locked in than usual for the upcoming season? Has he put such chicanery behind him? Perhaps Butler simply wanted to subvert expectations now that everyone was anticipating something wild. Who knows?
The NBA season starts with a doubleheader on October 22 featuring a matchup between the New York Knicks and the reigning NBA champion Boston Celtics starting at 7:30 p.m. ET followed by a Western Conference matchup pitting the Minnesota Timberwolves against the Los Angeles Lakers, beginning at 10 p.m. ET.
Butler and the Heat start their season a day later with a home game against the Orlando Magic. Tipoff for that game is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET.
