The Mets have reportedly agreed to a minor league deal with Rico Garcia and will extend an MLB camp invite to the right-hander, according to MLB.com’s Anthony DiComo.
If Garcia makes the roster out of camp, he will receive a pro-rated $900,000 salary in 2025.
Garcia, 30, spent the 2024 season in the Washington Nationals’ Triple-A team. Across 55 games, Garcia pitched to a 6-3 record, a 3.94 ERA and a 1.25 WHIP. He also led the International League with 20 saves out of 21 opportunities.
In 2023, Garcia pitched 10 games with the Oakland Athletics and Nationals. However, Garcia struggled when he had a 9.26 ERA.
