MERIDIAN, Miss. (WTOK) -On Monday, December 23rd, Meridian Native and Indianapolis Colts defensive lineman Raekwon Davis will be hosting a Holiday Shopping Spree in partnership with the Salvation Army.
The 5th annual Rae’s Elves Event was founded by Raekwon and this year’s event will take place at the Walmart Supercenter in Meridian. It will allow 100 children ages 16 and under to shop for holiday gifts alongside Raekwon Davis, his family, and friends.
Like many of his past events, he aims to give back to his hometown and create lasting memories for families who are in need during the holidays.
Raekwon Davis, Defensive Tackle for the Indianapolis Colts, says that seeing the smiles on the children’s faces is why he loves to do what he does for his hometown.
“It just makes me happy to send a smile on the kid’s faces when they come out and the family, you know, just being able to give and help my community. I mean, I love it, whatever it takes to better my community and to show them I love them and, you know, just helping the kids and bringing back the joy to my community,” Raekwon Davis says.
Davis loves using his platform to be a voice and a light in his community and those around him.
If you would like to participate in the event, you can access the link through their Instagram page @RaesElvesMeridian.
Confirmed participants will receive an email with more details about the event, including the exact time and location; parents or guardians must also accompany their children to the event and present valid IDs upon checking in.
