Sophomore Brock Snyder finished off the best tournament of his young collegiate career, placing in the top 20 at the John A. Burns Intercollegiate, which wrapped up Saturday in Hawaii.
Snyder finished with a two-under 208 (66-71-71) over the three-day tournament – besting his previous-best collegiate 54-hole total by five strokes. On Saturday, Snyder tallied three birdies as he finished 18th overall in a field that included seven teams ranked in the nation’s top 41.
Junior Virgilio Paz finished with the top round on the day for Mizzou, firing a one-under 69. Paz carded three birdies with only two bogeys as he moved up 17 spots on the leaderboard on the final day with a +11 overall score (77-75-69).
Sophomore Veikka Viskari and freshman Trent Mierl also added a one-over 71 during the third round. Viskari finished 38th with a final tally of +3 (70-72-21), while Mierl rebounded over the last two rounds to card a +9 (80-68-71).
“It was a good final round for us today,” said Missouri head coach Glen Millican. “It was really nice to see Brock finish top-20 and Trent bounce back with two solid rounds after struggling on Thursday.”
As a team, the Tigers carded their top score of the tournament at +2, placing 11th overall in the 17-team field at +14.
