VICTOR, N.Y. – The. St. John Fisher University men’s golf team finished in a tie for 17th at the Flower City NCAA Division III Preview, which the Cardinals hosted on Sunday and Monday at the Cobblestone Creek and Midvale country clubs.
The Cardinals finished plus-55 over two days in a tournament that included some of the best Division III teams in the country. Participants played 36 holes on Sunday at Midvale and 18 on Monday at Cobblestone Creek.
Emory finished in first place (-31), while Illinois Wesleyan (-19) came in second. Methodist (-17), Washington and Lee (-16) and Carnegie Mellon (-11) rounded out the top five on the team leaderboard.
Senior RJ Juodaitis had Fisher’s best showing, carding a 255 to finish nine over. He shot even par in the second leg of Sunday’s 36-hole marathon.
Methodist’s Aidan Spampinato (-17) finished first on the individual leaderboard. Emory’s Brian Hanson (-14) came in second.
The Cardinals will compete at the Northeast Elite tournament in Williamsport, Pa., on Sept. 28 and 29.
