GREENSBORO, N.C. (Oct. 29) – The Denison University men’s golf team closed out its fall season with a 12th place effort competing against a dozen nationally-ranked teams at the O’Briant Jensen Memorial Tournament in North Carolina.
The challenging two-day event was hosted at the The Cardinal by Pete Dye, which played to a Par 71, 6778-yard course.
Denison logged a team total of 627 over the 36 holes. The Big Red showed consistency with a 314 on Monday and then a 313 during Tuesday’s round. Denison finished 12th of the competing 21 teams including finishing ahead of ranked foes #27 Wittenberg and #32 Christopher Newport.
Andrew Gallagher led the Big Red by tying in 25th place. Gallagher finished 10 over after carding an opening round 77 before shooting a 75 on Tuesday.
Owen Blakely tied for 47th place at 15-over. Blakely shot an 80 on Monday before tallying a 77 during Tuesday’s round.
Drew Brasky came in a tie for 62nd. Brasky shot an 81 before totaling a 79 on Tuesday. He finished 18-over.
Nicholas Viana tied for 77th overall (76-87). John Yavari rounded out the Denison competitors in a tie for 90th at 23-over (83-82).
