COTO DE CAZA, Calif. – The Cal State Fullerton men’s golf team took first place at the Orange County Collegiate Classic for the fourth consecutive year, after shooting a 6-over par 870 (289-290-291), at the Coto de Caza Golf & Racquet Club on Tuesday.
Tegan Andrews placed third individually after shooting a team low 3-under par 213. His best round (68 strokes) came in the final 18 holes.
Will Tanaka took seventh place with a score of even-par 216, while Giacomo Comerio (3-over par 219) tied for 10th place.
Matthew Schafer shared 20th place with three other golfers, shooting 7-over par 223. Patrick Ordonez rounded out Fullerton’s starting five with an 8-over par 224 for a shared 24th place finish.
Dante Lazare (31-over par 247) competed as an individual, placing 53rd after golfing his best round on the last 18 holes (75). Brendan Ashman and Nicky Benton joined Lazare as individuals, ending the tournament tied for 36th place with a score of 14-over par 230.
The Titans travel to the Wyoming Desert Intercollegiate in Palm Desert on Monday, Feb. 24.
