JACKSON, Tenn. – The Belmont men’s golf team stands in 11th place after round one of the Grover Page Classic held Monday at Jackson Country Club in Jackson, Tennessee.
The tournament was shortened to a 36 hole event due to wet course conditions caused by heavy rain over the last week.
The Bruins carded an afternoon round of 288 to finish the day in 11th place. Morehead State and Austin Peay are tied for the team lead at 275. Murray State is in third at 277.
Two Belmont golfers are among the top-20 after round one. Junior Conner Brown and sophomore Grey Goff are tied for 18th place after carding a two-under 70 on Monday. They are five shots back of the individual leader, Nolan Piazza of Morehead State, who shot 65, which included an albatross on the par-5 15th hole.
Sophomore Chris Harpum shot an even par 72 to finish the day tied for 40th, while sophomore Jack Darke and graduate student Foster Wood are tied for 76th at 76.
Two Bruins are competing as individuals. Sophomore Grant Clark is tied for 40th at 72, while freshman Brennan Cozad is tied for 70th at 75.
