NOTRE DAME, IN- After two rounds of the Fighting Irish Classic hosted by Notre Dame, Augusta University sits in 12th place at +27. The Jaguars are just five shots out of the top 10. The host Irish lead the tournament at +2 and are followed by Louisville at +3 and UCLA and Little Rock, who are both +4.
The story in the opening round for the Jaguars was the play of sophomore Mason Fundingsland who fired a -3 (67) to open the tournament. Fundingltand had three birdies, an eagle and a two bogeys on his scorecard to pace AU.
In round two, it was Bo Blanchard II leading the way with a 72. He was followed closely by Pieter Rossouw Jr. (73), Stefan Jacobs (74), and Josh Koekemoer (75) for the counting scores. Blanchard and Jacobs are both +6 overall in a tie for 37th place.
Sophomore Chapman Barnett is playing as an independent and is the low Jaguar at +5, good enough for 30th place.
