Riverdale, N.Y. — The Manhattan men’s golf team has released their schedule for the 2024-2025 season. Barring any changes by the MAAC, the Jaspers will compete in nine events across the Fall 2024 and Spring 2025 seasons.
“This is a very exciting year for us,” head coach Keith Prokop said. “We have been consistently rising up the rankings the last couple of years and this year our goal is to be in and around the winners circle. That being said, we have added some new events this year, tougher courses, higher ranked teams all with the challenge of trying to get ourselves ready for the MAAC Championship in April. I can’t wait to see what our young team has in store this season.”
Fall 2024
*The Jaspers will debut at the Red Bandanna Invitational at Turning Stone Resort on 9/1 and 9/2. The tournament hosted by Boston College honors the legacy of BC alum Welles
Crowther—known as “The Man in the Red Bandanna”—who tragically died on 9/11 while saving others.
*Manhattan will then travel to Connecticut to compete in the Ryan T. Lee Memorial Collegiate at Shuttle Meadow Country Club on 9/21 and 9/22. The tournament was created by Ryan T. Lee Memorial Foundation which honors the legacy of Ryan T. Lee, a Berlin, CT native who tragically died in 2011 at 19 years old.
*The Jaspers’ schedule will keep them in the Nutmeg State for an opportunity to compete at the Sacred Heart Fall Classic at Great River Golf Club in Milford on 9/30 and 10/1. The tournament is hosted by fellow MAAC member Sacred Heart.
*Manhattan’s first showing in October will bring them to the Nassau Intercollegiate at Nassau Country Club on 10/21 and 10/22. The club is located in Glen Cove, New York and is the home course for the Long Island University Sharks.
*Manhattan will conclude their Fall 2024 slate with a showing at the Metropolitan Intercollegiate at Montclair Country Club on 10/28 and 10/29. The Jaspers will return to the New Jersey course after finishing in second place a year ago.
Spring 2025
*Manhattan will have their first competitive outing of 2025 when they compete in the Iona Spring Invitational at Rum Pointe Golf Course on 3/28 and 3/29. This invitational is hosted by MAAC rival Iona University at the par-72, 7001-yard Rum Pointe Seaside Golf Links in Berlin, Maryland.
*To cap off March, Manhattan will compete in the Columbia Spring Invitational at Rolling Green Golf Club in Springfield, Pennsylvania on 3/31. Rolling Green is a par 70, 6,760-yard course.
*In April, the Jaspers will test their game in the Testudo Cup, hosted by University of Maryland, at PB Dye Golf Club in Ijamsville, Maryland on 4/5 and 4/6. From there, Manhattan will conclude their season at the MAAC Championship held at the Walt Disney World Resort from 4/17-4/19
