BRUNSWICK, Ga. – For the first time since the final poll of the 2022-23 season, the College of Coastal Georgia men’s golf team is ranked inside the top five in the NAIA Coaches Poll, ranked fifth after their first place finish in the Bojangles Fall Invitational several weeks ago.
The Mariners wrapped up their fall season with a win in Vonore, Tenn. that saw them take first place over the defending national champion Dalton State Roadrunners by 17 strokes and also saw freshman Jake Ackerman pick up his first collegiate win shooting -11 under at the Fall Invite.
The Roadrunners do remain in the top spot in the rankings receiving all 16 first place votes, followed by Keiser, Oklahoma City, Lindsey Wilson, and CCGA.
The Mariners return to the course in February when they host their winter invitational on February 10-11 at Sanctuary Cove GC in Waverly, Ga.
