After a two-week break, the Little Rock Men’s Golf team will match up against a star-studded field Sunday during the Fighting Irish Classic in Notre Dame, Indiana at the beautiful Warren Golf Course. The Trojans are part of a 15-team field that includes eight teams from last year’s Top 50 rankings, eight that advanced to the NCAA Regionals, and three which moved on to the NCAA National Championships.
Sunday will consist of 36 holes with an 8:30 am shotgun start on the 7,023-yard Par 70 course, and the final round will take place Monday. Among the schools competing are Augusta, Duke, Georgia Southern, Indiana, Iowa, Kent State, Louisville, Michigan State, Notre Dame, Purdue, Rutgers, Tennessee, UCLA, and Washington.

Little Rock will use a lineup of Archie Smith, Freddie Turnell, Rhett South, Matteo Cristoni, and Lukas Roessler. The Trojans had two weeks off from since their latest outing, an eighth-place finish at the Bearcat Invitational in Cincinnati, Ohio. They opened with a third-place showing at the Argent Financial Classic In Louisiana.
Smith and Turnell currently lead the Trojans with a per round average of 72.5, tied for 15th in the Ohio Valley Conference. Cristoni is right behind at 72.7 and South is at 72.8. The Trojans’ team average of 289.5 ranks sixth in the conference.
