BRUNSWICK, Ga. – After 36 holes in the Men’s Golf Winter Invite, the College of Coastal Georgia men’s golf team currently leads their home invitational, sitting at six under par, leading by eight strokes headed into the final day.
Three of the five Mariners sit inside the top five individually, with Antonio Juarbe leading the tournament by two strokes.
Juarbe shot the low round in round one for CCGA, shooting a five under 67 to kick off his spring season followed by Lee Smith who finished two under in round one. Jake Ackerman, Finley Burke, and Bo Shuler, the rest of the scoring players for the Mariners, all finished at even par in round one, leading to the big lead for CCGA. As individuals, Griffin Blount finished with a 74 while Braylon Royal and Brad Hammock both finished with 75’s.
In round two, it was a one over par performance for CCGA, highlighted by a three under 69 from Ackerman to finish in third place for the day. Juarbe and Smith both finished even par, with Juarbe holding onto the lead while Smith sits in fifth place. Burke finished his second round four over for a 30th place finish, and Shuler finished eight over in round two. Royal finished with a 75 in round two while Blount and Hammock both shot 77’s to end their day.
Keiser trails the Mariners by eight shots heading into the final day as they sit at two over, while Reinhardt, Webber, and Southeastern round out the top five.
The final 18 holes are set to begin with a shotgun start at 8:30 p.m. from Sanctuary Cove.
