KALAMAZOO, Mich. – With two MIAA events in three days, the Albion College men’s golf team has moved to fifth in the MIAA team standings. At Saturday’s jamboree, the team tied for fifth before another fifth place finish on Monday.
At Kalamazoo Country Club on Saturday, the Brits shot a 311. Freshman Bradley Davis led the way with a team-low score of 76. One stroke behind was fellow freshman, Alex Onstead, with a 77. Ryan Knitter followed with a 78, as Blake Wagner turned in an 80. Rounding out the team was Camden Paul’s 81. Nicholas Giannone competed as an individual, carding an 80.
On Monday, Hope was the host institution. Albion shot a 306 on the day, led by Wagner’s 74. Onstead carded another 76, while Paul responded with a 77 for the day. Knitter totaled a 79, as Davis rounded out the squad with an 84. Giannone once again competed as an individual, shooting a 76.
Albion will be idle for a week before competing at the Ken Venturi Invitational hosted by Trine on Oct. 8.
